Charcoal, watercolor and pastel are just some of the mediums used within past commissions, however my acrylic paintings are what I’m best known for!
I believe in changing style and exploring where creativity takes me. I have technical training and can zone in on highly realistic work, but also love to let loose and provide visually Interesting abstracts.

Nature and the outdoors fill my spirit with joy and it’s where I find much of the inspiration for my pieces.
Currently, my Italian heritage is playing an important role for the Inspiration in my new
Italian Series! Growing up with full Italian parents and grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, I was immersed (and still am) in a culture that I love and runs deep in my heart!

Kristen Spilak is an artist and art educator from the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelors degree in Education and a major in Visual Art. Acrylic paint and charcoal are Kristen’s mediums of choice, however she loves to dabble in all sorts of visually creative outlets.
Creating unique and custom pieces for a collector's home or business brings great joy.
Family, memories, and culture are most important to her and she is honored when asked to paint artwork that connects to a unique story.
